Resume tips, templates & a video walkthrough.

Everything to get your resume restoration-ready in one place — what to lead with, how to structure it, and a short video on writing a resume and cover letter.

Resume Tips

What restoration hiring managers look for first

Lead with certifications (IICRC), job types you've handled (water, fire, mold, large-loss), and any Xactimate or scoping software experience — restoration hiring managers look for that first.

Simple Resume Templates

What a good resume includes, section by section

Not a fill-in-the-blank template — a plain breakdown of what to put in each section, so a simple, clean resume actually reads well.

Contact Information

Phone, mailing address, and email. Make sure your voicemail greeting sounds professional — hiring managers do call.

Career Objective

Optional, but a short, specific objective can help a recruiter match you to the right opening faster.

Summary Statement

Keep it short: title, years of experience, relevant certifications/skills, and a couple work characteristics. Example: "Restoration Project Manager with 6+ years across residential and commercial large-loss claims, IICRC-certified, proficient in Xactimate scoping and estimating."

Professional Experience

List roles in reverse chronological order, going back at least ten years. Lead each entry with loss types and scope of work handled.

Certifications & Skills

Education, IICRC training, affiliations, licenses, technical/software skills (Xactimate, scoping tools), and languages spoken.

What to Leave Off

Skip personal information like marital status — keep the resume focused on experience and qualifications.
