A job board collects applicants. A restoration recruiter runs a search. Partner with a staffing agency when the seat is estimator, project manager, mitigation leadership, or sales — and you cannot afford another 60 days of resumes that have never touched a live loss. The point is not help sorting applications. The point is reaching people who already do this work and will not apply to a posting.
Because your PMs are on jobs, not on LinkedIn. A specialty recruiter lives in the restoration and construction market every day: IICRC conversations, Xactimate screens, who just left a regional, who will relocate for the right file volume. You keep running files. They keep the search moving.
OPS Staffing is contingency direct-hire for insurance restoration and construction — employee-owned, Pasadena / Houston based, nationwide since December 2015. We are not asking you to replace your crew with temp labor. We are asking you to stop treating a reconstruction PM search like a generic Indeed campaign. Start on restoration recruiters.
| What you compare | Job board | Restoration recruiter |
|---|---|---|
| Who shows up | Whoever applied | People screened for loss type and tools |
| Your time | You read everything | You see a shortlist with a reason |
| Confidential seats | The market sees the posting | Search can stay quiet until you are ready |
| After the offer | You own a miss | 60-120 day replacement guarantee |
Boards still have a use — entry roles, high-volume technician ads, or a public careers page. They are a weak primary tool for estimator, PM, multi-site leadership, and restoration sales. Those people are already working.
The fee is real. The expensive outcome is the miss: a PM who cannot run reconstruction, an estimator who cannot defend a scope, a salesperson who lasts nine weeks. You pay twice — once in the seat, again in the files that slipped while you re-hired.
A partner who has already screened for Xactimate, IICRC, and live-loss behavior reduces that miss rate. Ask for the guarantee in writing. If you are filling restoration sales seats on a flat fee instead of a percentage, look at the Floodlight Sales Program.
If you are still choosing which firm, use the checklist in tips for choosing the right staffing agency. This page is the why, not the vendor scorecard.
No. OPS Staffing’s public offer is contingency direct-hire for restoration and construction seats, with a 60-120 day replacement guarantee. Temp or surge labor is a different product. Do not buy one expecting the other.
Once the role is scoped, outreach should begin in days. Average time-to-fill on restoration seats we publish is in the two-to-three-week range when the brief is clear — not when the title keeps changing.
